How this checker works

The checker compares your monthly income against the base income requirement of each country in our database — the same officially sourced, dated figure shown on that country’s page. Countries whose figure you meet are marked likely eligible; countries above your income are below threshold; countries whose requirement we have not yet verified against an official source stay data pending rather than being guessed. Annual thresholds are converted to monthly, and non-euro requirements are compared using an approximate, dated exchange rate — flagged in the results whenever a conversion was applied.

If you are an EU or EEA citizen, the checker also applies the one rule that outranks every income threshold: freedom of movement. For EU member countries you need no digital nomad visa at all — the right to live and work there is automatic, and the result says so instead of pretending a threshold applies. What it deliberately does not tell you

This is a shortlisting aid, not a decision. It compares one number — the base income floor — because that is the hard gate most applications fail first. It does not assess your document pack, your insurance, your criminal-record certificate, or the way a consulate will read your employment contract. And once a partner or children are involved, most countries raise the requirement, so the checker never returns a firm “yes” for families — it points you to the country page, where the family uplift is sourced and dated.
